Steve Urbano is an award winning creative, writer, director and producer with deep experience in advertising, network promotions, documentaries, corporate communications and branded content.
Combining leadership and collaboration, he creates visually compelling stories and a team oriented environment on set or in the studio.
His work includes commercials, brand videos, corporate communications, network promotions, documentaries and series for clients including Discovery Channel, HGTV, Food Network, Animal Planet, Pepsi, Ford, Dupont, Toyota, Dish Network, IBM, and NBC Sports.
A dynamic director able to merge live action with animation and visual effects, Steve is also an enthusiast and auto racer who brings a unique perspective to filming cars and motorsports.
He has directed and produced documentary films including “24x24: Wide Open with Jeff Gordon” for TNT Network/Lionsgate and “Barack Obama, The Man And His Journey” for Universal.
Steve has worked with artists, athletes and celebrities including Smokey Robinson, Jeff Gordon, Elton John, Beyonce', Robin Thicke, Giada DeLaurentiis, Bobby Flay, Blair Underwood, Mario Andretti and Patrick Dempsey.
Steve was mentored by his grandfather Carl Urbano, who directed beloved characters like the Flintstones and Jetsons with Hanna-Barbera.
Urbano’s work has been awarded Clios, Addys, Tellys and Emmys. He's been honored by the Broadcast Design Awards, the National Advertising Federation and the Art Director’s Club.
When not behind the camera, Steve's passion is auto racing and he was named the 2011 Formula Rookie of the Year by Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing.
